Who Are Abacus?

Abacus Property is a young contender in the field of Property Letting and Management. Being a young organisation, we have a fresh approach to letting. We draw from our personal experience of being both a Tenant and Landlord. We have an excellent understanding of the Letting Market in Edinburgh, and just as important of “people”.

Abacus Property was set up by a Private Landlord for a variety of reasons.

Initially as a new entrant to the "Property Game" the founder of Abacus Property contacted many Agents in the Edinburgh Area with regard to letting their 1st rental property.

They were appalled by the response of many of them and actually dreaded handing over their property to these agents. The fear of handing over responsibility for managing an asset well in excess of £100,000.00 was a terrifying prospect. Yet as a new entrant to the "Buy-to-Let" market their lack of experience meant that they really had no other alternative at that point.

After signing over their 1st property to an Agent, and regretting it, they chose to manage their own property personally. They faced a steep learning curve yet their inherent values for the type of service they were offering started to take off. Their reputation for being a “Good Landlord” spread and they were soon faced with prospective Tenants calling them up and approaching them looking for accommodation.

Unable to meet the demand for property within their own property portfolio they chose to offer their services out to the general rental market.

A Landlord dealing with Abacus Property will be dealing with an organisation lead by a well educated and well-rounded professional who has excellent business acumen. A stickler for customer service means that they have an exceptionally high standard of customer service. A team that understand the needs of the Landlord as well as the needs of Tenants and that is vital for successful Tenancy Management.

A Tenant dealing with Abacus will be dealing with an organisation lead by someone who has been a Student, a member of the Armed Services, a Council Tenant, a home owner on a “Posh Estate” and a person who has seen more of life than most people will ever encounter. This experience provides a level of understanding that is essential for successful Tenancy Management.
